Due to popular demand in response to your feedback, Redhog Wrestling Club is hosting another Redhog Rookie Challenge to get all you wrestlers and grappler’s experience of Freestyle wrestling competitions.
Everyone attending can expect an enjoyable, action-packed learning experience. You are welcome to invite friends and family, supporters and spectators.
We look forward to welcoming back folks who attended our first Challenge back in August and hope to see many new faces.
Freestyle Wrestling Rules are the rules-of-the-day and we open the event with the Mini wrestler’s category from 5 – 8 years – the future wrestling generation 
and then continue to wrestle all the way through the junior and senior weight categories and end with the medal presentations.
The Rookie Challenge is a Redhog Wrestling Club event organised by John O’Rawe, the National, Commonwealth and Talent Development Coach. Our competition is open to all Northern Ireland wrestlers and grapplers who have less than 3 years wrestling experience.
Redhog Rookie Challenge Regulations
Membership of The Northern Ireland Wrestling Association Ltd (NIWA) is required for all Coaches, Competitors and Officials at the time of competition.
You can register on the day, however to ensure a smooth process we would ask that you bring your completed membership form and payment at the time of weigh-in. (9.00am-10.00am)
Event Date: Saturday 26 November
Event Venue: Evolve Gym, Europa Tool Yard, Springbank Ind Estate, Poleglass, BT17 0QL
Age & Weight: Senior competitors will be matched by weight on the day. Mini & junior will be matched in accordance with weight, ability, age. (Age: Year of birth within 3yr span)
Weight Allowance: None
Weigh-In: Saturday 26 November 0900 – 1000 hours Wrestling Begins: 10.30am
Eligibility: Membership of the Northern Ireland Wrestling Association required
Entry Fee: £8.00 Seniors (16+ yrs), £5.00 all other competitors
Closing Date: Thursday 24 November (We would appreciate the majority of entries by this date)
