World Wrestling Championships

The Turkish Wrestling Federation, hosts of the senior World Championship, the most prestigious competition of the year kicks off in Istanbul from 12 – 18 September.

The first qualification places for the 2012 Olympics are allocated to the first 6 in each weight category and the nationality of the first 108 participants in the Games will be known with 42 qualified wrestlers in freestyle, 42 in Greco-Roman, and 24 in female wrestling.
